Wedding photos on WhatsApp or a QR gallery?

Compare familiar group chats with an event gallery on organization, sharing permissions, original files and collecting photos after the wedding.

A messaging group can be a convenient way to ask for wedding photos. An event gallery can separate your collection from the conversation. Choose according to what your guests can use and what you need to keep.

Check the actual sharing mode

Image quality in messaging services depends on the method and settings used. Avoid assuming that every message is compressed or that every cloud link requires an account. Test how originals are sent, who can upload and how you export everything.

Questions for a messaging group

  • Are guests comfortable joining the same group and sharing contact details?
  • Can they send the files in the quality you need?
  • Will photos remain easy to find among messages?
  • How will you collect and organize the files afterwards?
  • Does the code open a simple browser upload flow?
  • What can guests see after uploading?
  • Are photos, videos and messages supported?
  • What are the upload, storage and export limits?

In Capture Core Moments, guests upload without a guest account or app. Hosts can organize albums and download the collection. Packages define the relevant time windows; review visibility settings before inviting guests.

You can use both

Send your gallery link through the group your guests already use, then ask them to upload there. Keep the group for coordination and the gallery for event memories. A QR card gives people at the venue the same destination.

Test with two phones, show one simple example and send one reminder after the celebration. Our collection guide compares additional methods, and QR templates help explain the upload.
